Jakarta – Menteri Pelindungan Pekerja Migran Indonesia (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding menjenguk pekerja migran Indonesia non prosedural atau ilegal bernama Sri Wahyuni di Rumah Sakit (RS) Polri, Kramat Jati, Jakarta pada Minggu (1/6/2025).
Wahyuni mengalami kelumpuhan total akibat stroke saat kerja di Malaysia. Ia dipulangkan ke tanah air oleh pemerintah kemudian di rawat di RS Polri Jakarta.
Menteri Karding mengungkapkan, Wahyuni merupakan korban dari calo yang mengiming-imingi kerja di luar negeri dengan proses cepat dan bergaji besar. Keluarga Wahyuni di Indonesia juga sulit ditemukan, lantaran kartu tanda penduduk (KTP) korban dipalsukan.
“Kalau dari alamat KTP yang ada, kita cek ke Lamongan di Karanggene, kecamatan sana, itu tidak ditemukan nama Sri Wahyuni ini. Artinya waktu itu dia pasti menjadi korban calo untuk dipalsukan KTP-nya kemudian berangkat bekerja ke luar negeri,” kata Menteri Karding.
Karena tidak ada pihak keluarga yang mendampingi, Menteri Karding memastikan bahwa negara akan menanggung seluruh biaya perawatan Sri Wahyuni.
“Negara harus hadir. Walaupun beliau berangkat sebagai pekerja non-prosedural, kami akan menanggung seluruh biaya pengobatan melalui Kementerian P2MI,” tegas Menteri Karding.
Oleh karena itu, Menteri Karding mengimbau kepada para calon pekerja migran Indonesia untuk mematuhi peraturan dan melengkapi dokumen untuk bekerja ke luar negeri.
Dengan berangkat secara prosedural, Menteri Karding memastikan akan membantu memberikan pelindungan jika memang tersandung permasalahan di negara penempatan.
“Karena mereka tidak terdata, sangat sulit bagi negara untuk memberikan perlindungan dan bantuan saat mereka menghadapi masalah,” pungkasnya.
